great variety helpful staff fresh mangoes

I spent 4 nights in this beautiful location. The breakfast had great variety of local and international dishes. Restaurant staff like Jen offered assistance quickly. The complimentary fresh mangoes and red wine were much appreciated.

The check-in process felt a LITTLE impersonal.

outdated room disruptive noise

The room I had was outdated and showed signs of wear. I noticed noise coming from the walls during the night, disruptive to my sleep (.. ) I found it difficult to relax fully due to these disturbances and the general state of the room.

hourly payment busy buffet

I enjoyed the two large pools, where I could do laps. They upgraded me to a larger room with a better ocean view on the third day.

The indoor play area required payment per hour, I found this disappointing. Other 5-star hotels offer free play areas. The breakfast buffet was large and busy. It was also quite meat-heavy, I didn't like it.

not quite shangri-la, more like shangri-meh

limited gym hours slow replies

the gym closed at 10pm. i found that quite odd. even budget hotels keep their gyms open 24 hours, so this felt... lazy. also, the customer service replies were glacial. i almost forgot i had a question by the time they responded.
